We began this musical project with the hope of creating an album of original Greek musical compositions that expressed the love for our music, and our Greek heritage.

 

I co-wrote the album with fellow musician, John Nychis. John and I had met while attending the Graduate School of Music at Duquesne University. At that time, we discussed the possibility of composing original Greek compositions. Several years later, we found ourselves performing together with several Greek bands in the Pittsburgh Area.

 

John and I jumped in with all fours! John concentrated on the lyrics, while I experimented with melodic phrasing to compliment those emotional, and inspiring lyrics. The blend went surprisingly well!

 

Thanks to Sotiri Tsourekis, who in my opinion, is one of the finest bouzouki performers in North America and Nick Scanga on guitar. Nick was definitely our “go to guy” for a project like this. A big shout out to Athena Batis for contributing her talents on "Tina Kano".
